Wildlife
- Big cats — Lions, cheetahs and leopards are resident all year; shorter January grass makes them easier to see and photograph.
- Elephants — Herds are present year-round and often feed near the reserve's rivers and marshes.
- Birds of prey — Eagles, vultures and other raptors are seen all year, with clear January skies helping flight shots.
- Savannah landscapes — January's green plains and dramatic skies give strong landscape and environmental frames.
Why January
January falls outside the July–October migration season, but it suits photography: the short rains have usually passed, grass is shorter and green, resident big cats are easier to find and follow, and there are fewer vehicles at sightings. Payment Terms
- 50% Booking Deposit: Payable upon booking confirmation.
- Remaining 50% Balance: Payable no later than 45 days before departure.
- Bookings made within 45 days of departure require full payment at confirmation.
- All bank transfer and intermediary bank charges shall be borne by the remitter.
Cancellation & Refunds
If a guest cancels, payments are not refunded except for any amount we recover from suppliers beyond our documented, non-recoverable costs — that amount is refunded. Anything we keep must be reasonable, documented and lawful.
If Savara Trails cancels a confirmed departure for reasons within its control, guests will be offered a full refund of payments received for the affected services or an alternative arrangement.
For circumstances beyond reasonable control, Savara Trails will communicate available alternatives and applicable refunds based on recoverable supplier payments and applicable law.
Participant replacements may be considered subject to availability, supplier approval and applicable amendment charges.
Fixed-departure cancellation conditions must be disclosed and accepted by the guest before payment.
Approved refunds will normally be processed within 30 business days from the date of refund approval. Refunds will be made to the original payment method or payer, subject to applicable banking, payment-provider and foreign exchange requirements. Any unavoidable bank or transaction charges will be communicated where applicable. This timeline must not override any shorter mandatory statutory refund deadline.
These terms remain subject to applicable Indian consumer protection, contract and foreign exchange laws. Nothing in this policy limits mandatory statutory rights.
